11 Rochdale Asian mean charged with child rape and other paedophile crimes

by | 21st, February 2012

ELEVEN men are in the dock at Liverpool crown Court. The men all all anglo-Asians. How relevant is that? They are accused of sexually abusing five girls. The girls were aged between 13 and 15 when the alleged abuse began. The girls are wall white. How relevant is that?

All the girls are from broken homes. One of the girl was in care, in the protection of the State.

The alleged rape and assaults occurred in Rochdale, Greater Manchester, between 2008 and 2009. It is alleged that the men gave the girls drugs and drink in return for sex.

Kabeer Hassan, 24, Abdul Aziz, 41, Abdul Rauf, 43, Mohammed Sajid, 35, Adil Khan, 42, Abdul Qayyum, 43, Mohammed Amin, 44, Qamar Shahzad, 29, Liaquat Shah, 41, and Hamid Safi, 22, are charged with conspiracy to engage in sexual activity with children under the age of 16. They each deny every charges laid before them. A 12th man, Mohammed Shazad, is wanted by the police

The man are alleged paedophiles.

All have pleaded not guilty to every crime put before them..

The men knew one another. Two of the accused work in the fast food industry, at Tasty Bites and the Balti House, both in Rochdale. Four have no work. One is a student. Four have worked as mini cab drivers.

One of the alleged victims told police:

“When you’ve got Asian friends, number gets passed and they pass it to their friends. And they pass it to their friends, end up with a massive circle… everyone’s got it.”

The girls found other girls. Where? How?

Prosecutor Rachel Smith claims an older girl introduced a 14-year-old girl “to a number of different men who wanted to have sex with her, with or without her consent…She was raped there [at a takeaway] and elsewhere and also taken by the man to other places where she was provided by him to other men for sex.”

Of one girl, Smith says:

“When she was told that she had to have sex with the particular defendant or other men, she would submit to them, although she describes herself as lying impassively with her eyes shut or looking at the wall. She was given alcohol, which she drank heavily, not least because it numbed her thoughts to what was happening to her.”

An alleged exchange with an unnamed 59-year-old man went like this:

Man, 59, to 15-year-old: “It’s part of the deal because I bought you vodka, you have to give me something.”
She cries. He rapes her.
Man: “Don’t cry, I love you.”

In the Times, Andrew Norfolk writes:

Victims, including a 14-year-old runaway from a children’s home, were persuaded to exchange sex for vodka, cash and pizzas. Those who resisted were threatened or physically assaulted, Liverpool Crown Court was told. One child, who later told police that she was having sex “with several men in a day, several times a week”, said that “most of the time I was just dead drunk so that when it happened it wouldn’t feel as bad”.

Another was allegedly raped by three men while so intoxicated that she was vomiting over the side of a bed. She later cried herself to sleep.

A third girl, said to have been made pregnant by one defendant when she was 13, described being taken to addresses where men wanted to “chill with me”. Numerous Pakistani men knew her mobile phone number, she told police.

Eleven men, aged from 21 to 59, deny numerous child-sex offences including 12 rapes, aiding and abetting rape, sexual activity with a child, sexual assault and six counts of trafficking a child within the UK for sexual exploitation.

The case continues.

Is race relevant in this? If so, why? Are white girls more likely to be victims and from broken homes?
