Rihanna finally speaks out about Chris Brown collaboration

by | 16th, March 2012

RIHANNA is an infuriating human being, mainly because she’s always in earshot talking about sex. Constantly. Unswervingly. Sex sex sex sex sex until its as boring as talking about shoe-horns. However, the other story that has swirled around her is her relationship with Chris Brown.

Of course, Brown beat Rihanna up and is still on probation about it all. To confuse matters, RiRi went and recorded a couple of duets with him. It seems everyone has forgiven Breezy, apart from the confused few left looking at the situation and wondering when someone may actually mention the whole ‘being sorry for beating Rihanna up’ thing.

And now, at last, Rihanna has something to say about it all!

Ri has defended her decision to collaborate with Brown, explaining simply that he’s “the hottest R&B artist out right now”. So, three years after being assaulted by someone… someone who hasn’t apologised and, allegedly, using the incident as a way of chatting women up… you can absolve them of sin because they’re ‘hot right now’.

She added: “There shouldn’t be a divide, you know? It’s music and it’s innocent.”

But what’s downright sinister is how there has been absolutely no hint of regret, humility or anything from Brown. There’s a collective amnesia over the whole affair, with Breezy often conducting himself like he’s the one who has been wronged.

“We did two records,” she told Ryan Seacrest. “One for my fans, one for his fans, and that way our fans can come together … I reached out to him about doing Birthday Cake because that’s the only person that really … it made sense to do the record. Just as a musician, despite everything else, that was going to be the person. You know I thought about rappers, and I’ve done that so many times, and the hottest R&B artist out right now is Chris Brown. So I wanted him on the track, and then in turn he was like ‘Why don’t you do the remix to my track?’ and it was a trade-off.”

Now, who wants to point out that Chris Brown knocked seven shades out of Rihanna, again?
