Daily Mail fooled by Carol Vorderman’s super-yacht

by | 18th, March 2012

CAROL Vorderman has a new yacht. It’s a multi-million poond gin palace moored in Bristol. So says the Mail.

The busy Daily Mail Reporter spots Carol’s tweet:

I’ve hired this for the season….thought I’d leave it on Bristol waterfront for a bit x

The Mail oozes:

She’s made a name for herself as a TV star with plenty of brains behind her beauty.  But perhaps Carol Vorderman wasn’t quite with it when she decided to rent a huge yacht.  The 51-year-old posted a picture of the large vessel to her Twitter page, proudly announcing it was moored at the Bristol docks.

In fact, it’s pretty miserable across the British Isles with rain and grey skies dominating this weekend. That won’t put Carol off though, the former Countdown presenter always seem to be of a sunny disposition.

It’s almost as if Daily Mail Reporter is not a real hack, just a drone looking at Twitter all day and being told to spin a story from a tweet. This story is clearly nonsense. Carol has no such boat. As she says:
Dear Daily Mail ….. my tweet about hiring the mega yacht, two oligarchs and a bottle of Vimto… A joke perhaps? Doh!
Look out for Carol’s Twitter joke on the Daily Mail…

This is a cross-section through the brain of Carol Vorderman - and now researchers want out why she has a head for figures. Whilst some people believe that 95% of the population can be good at sums, neurophysiologist Dr Mark Lythgoe believes that people may be born with a genetic ability for an aptitude in science, maths or art and it is not simply practice. He'll be explaining his beliefs in a series of lecture next month in London, Bristol and Glasgow sponsored by NESTA, the National Endowment for Science, Technology and the Arts, as part of its support for UK creativity and innovation and run in conjunction with the Visions of Science Photographic Awards, which are organised by Novartis, the healthcare company and The Daily Telegraph to extend interest in science. Carol is an ex-Trustee of NESTA.
