Was it right to show the face of Fabrice Muamba, the Bolton Wanderers footballer who stopped breathing during a football match? Is it right to show the face of Pope Shenouda III seated upright on the wooden throne of Mar Morqos, or St. Mark, at the Coptic Orthodox Church in Cairo, Egypt? March 18, 2012. Pope Shenouda III was patriarch of the Coptic Orthodox Church. He was the leader Egypt’s Christian minority (around 8 million in number and threatened by Islamic militants). He was 88.
Pope Shenouda will reamin sitting in state until the funeral on Tuesday and burial at St Bishoy monastery of Wadi Natrun in the Nile Delta.
