Man saves life with packet of hot cross buns
Mr Edwards had stopped breathing for several minutes. His skin turned blue. Mr Bird, 37, spotted the fallen man and also the six-pack of hot cross buns, which had fallen from Mr Edwards’ bags. Bird used the buns to keep the victim’s airway open before using CPR.
The Coventry Telegraph, however, does not say how the buns were used to keep the airways open, but it is thought that stuffing them up the man’s nose is wrong. Of course, given the horror over Patrice Muamba, a man who also stopped breathing in a public space, should all football club doctor’s kits included a bag of hot cross buns? And should they be the low fat option?
