Russian I.V. Pugach trademarks his beard against genocidal maniacs

by | 25th, April 2012

TO Russia, where I.V. Pugach has trademarked his beard, “the type with no sideburns that covers just the chin and the patch above the upper lip”. Mr Pugach says his beard is exclusive to him and a “racial attribute” of the Russian people. On his  website he says any non-Russians sporting his look are committing  “genocide” . As he writes:

“I reprimand Barak Obama for delaying the punishment of Muammar el-Qaddafi, enemy of the Russian people, for illegally wearing the beard.”

In order to wear the beard and avoid a trip to The Hague, Mr Pugach requests a fee of around 600 a year for plebs, $30,000 for actors in the public eye and $4 million for anyone on the telly.

He has yet to bring his beard to market, but Velcro can be obtained at the usual stations…
