Derek Acorah may indeed be a good person, but the fact is that he most probably makes quite a lot of money out of the TV work that he does on the back of his alleged gifts. There was no need for him to say anything at all about Madeleine McCann and it smacks of an attempt at further self-publicity, rather than actually trying to be helpful.

A genuine psychic would not charge for using their gift to help , thats the only way you can be sure that they are genuine and not exploiting the needy for money.

Dear All, Please accept some people person(s) have the ability to see and hear what otherscannot, maybe its hard for some to understand, this Earth has few of these amongst us and they are unique, they can make mistakes like the everyday person can in their life cycle as we are not perfect. Some people are out there whom do not understand they have the gift and choose the life cycle without opening up. I have met Derek he is a very good man, what you have to remember if someone speaks to you in a voice known as the inner voice it can be week and quite and sometimes we have to listen hard, sometimes as we get that message it may sound different to what it is supposed to be that is problably why Derek asks for his Guide to spell it. The story I read is what we call a press issue should we believe what is said in the press for goodness sake, I believe that this is again hype and to hit the good man with this is not fair. I think if the majority of you whom believe in GOD wont believe he is here when he returns, how on Earth are you going to deal with his return? Let people do what they do and accept the gentleman for whom he is and accept the defamatory the press and the rubbish they print if you so wish Derek has status in his ability to do what he understands but many cannot accept or want to try to understand, a few sentences in a printed paper and all alarms start and people should start to see what is reality, however we all differ oppinions and belief to this. My advice is the world could be corrupt and amongst the corrupted parts is good however we need to open our eyes to it. Derek If you read this please get in touch.

Dairy, after the palaver last week, about SY looking into reports from psychics, don’t you think it’s more likely that Acorah was contacted by the Sun, maybe to ask if he had reported anything? I think it’s more likely than him just saying it out of the blue.

I’m not defending his ‘trade’ or anything but, after my initial reaction about him publicity-seeking, I thought about it a bit more.

What is disgusting about Derek Acorah is that a psychic can never be 100% accurate. If a person cannot be 100% accurate then they have an “ethical” responsibility to not give out information (based on their ‘feelings’, ‘intuition’, etc) that could do serious psychological harm to grieving parents or even to a person who has been told when he/she is going to die (and how) at “reading”, for example.

Many of these psychics have enormous egos, and they crave attention. I would be called a psychic, if I let it be widely known. Family members know I have abilities; some have asked me if I can predict if they will die of their disease and when. I do not ever answer them; I tell them it is not responsible of me to assume I have 100% accuracy in my predictions. In fact, I tell them it could harm my own Karma for me to act like God in these situations. Psychics have no business engaging with people about missing children, unless they can quietly go and find the body or location of that person and then that would be closure for the parents. Otherwise, Mr. Acorah and others would do well to respect their supposed ‘gift’ and keep their mouths shut more often; stay out of tabloids, etc. Disgusting use of any gift.

Actually Silv, I think you’ll find he has certainly done something wrong. Put yourself in the position of Kate and Gerry. How is a “self-claimed medium” suggesting that little girl is no longer alive useful? Hope will never dwindle for parents of missing children. It is shocking to suggest, as you have, that they should give up and assume the statistical likelihood. I’m sure they have days in which they feel less hope, but hope nonetheless. The claim that Acorah didn’t wish to offend or upset the McCanns only reflects idiocy and lack of sentiment. It’s physically revolting that frauds such as Acorah are making money from one families misery and desperate search for their missing child.
At the end of the day no one will put him in prison, but this seems to be one of those situations in which opinions (emphasis on the word opinions) such as that should be kept to one’s self.

Seriously, Derek has done nothing wrong. After no info on the child after 5 years and not to forget the blood staines that were in the boot of their car and linked to Madeleine straight after she went missing and weren’t mentioned again, it isn’t so far fetched that she’s no longer alive. It is understandable that the parents are hoping for the child to still be alive ( like other parents hope for their children too but don’t get so much publicity like the Mcann’s do ), they need to have the reality kicking in slowly, that there is the big chance for her to be dead now. In less they were psychics and have the prove that she is still alive, they can not call Derek’s statement sick at all. In the end, he only explained why he didn’t want to waste time going over there like all the other psychics did as there was no reason to as he was already aware that she was dead…You can only call him sick and get him punished for it if she ever will be found alive. Then he should be jailed, I think and pay for the pain he as caused, but until then……I can’t imagine he would rouin his career by making statements like this if they weren’t true, would you….
