Spinal Tap actor arrest for ‘lewd act’ in cinema

by | 20th, July 2012

COMEDY is teeming with unsung heroes and, one of the best is Fred Willard. You’ll recognise him from Spinal Tap, Everybody Loves Raymond, WALL-E, Best In Show, Modern Family and his fall-down, flat on your face funny stint in A Mighty Wind.

Alas, poor Fred has beenĀ arrested on suspicion of committing a lewd act at an adult theater in Hollywood, according to authorities.

Of course, Willard busted by uniformed vice officers who were conducting a routine investigation at the theater around 9 p.m. Wednesday and saw Willard engaging in a lewd act, Los Angeles police Sgt. Mark Ro said. The police are dirty buggers aren’t they? Always tooting around adult theatres for ‘routine investigations’.

Willard was apparently alone and was released after midnight without posting bail.

Sadly, less than 24 hours after his arrest, the actor was fired from his job as host of new PBS show Market Warriors, despite a denial. Willard has said thatĀ his arrest was a “misunderstanding”.

Thus posing the question: What else are you supposed to do in an adult theatre? Enjoy the scripting in the film you’re watching?

Hardly.
