THE Scotsman reports that firefighters in Edinburgh have twice been called this week to rescue people trapped in a swings in the Stenhouse Drive play park. In the past few days, an 18-year-old woman and 14-year-old youth have been cut free. The woman was released at 12.33am; the boy in the “evening“.

Around the same time, a 17-year-old man was “extricated” from a swing in Galashiels, in the Scottish Borders. He too had become stuck fast.

“It is not yet known what has caused these people to become trapped on the swings.”
