Paralympics: 2012: Jody Cundy takes disqualification badly

by | 31st, August 2012

JODY Cundy MBE was disqualified from the C4-5 time trial at the London Paralympics after he wheelspun at the starting gate. He wanted a restart. The officials refused. Cundy was displeased, ranting:

“I fell out of the gate because the fucking gate didn’t open. I’ve wasted four years of my life to ride in front of 6,000 people. Do you know what it’s like to dedicate four years of your life… I can’t even express it, there aren’t the fucking words…I’ll never ever get this opportunity again, never, ever. What am I supposed to do now?”

He later appeared on the big screen:

“I would like to apologise for my language. Even over the noise you might have been able to hear it. Hopefully the youngsters had their hands over their ears.”

Hands over their ears to cup them and so better hear the tirade. It might not be football, but there’s less need for lip-synching. The fans love it:
