Phillip Beach tried to steal 12-ton boat by pulling it behind him and swimming

PHILLIP Beach, 26, might be the World’s Strongest Man. Police scuppered his attempt on the title when they spotted Beach Seabrook near Galveston, Texas, tied to the 44-foot, 12-ton yacht named The Flying Pearl and attempting to swim it away.

Beach was arrested and charged with theft.

No report says how far Beach got, and the record books are all the poorer for it. Until now, World’s Strongest Man has featured no swimming or water-based challenge. We get huge men in singlets towing truck,  lifting cars up by their bumper and placing huge metal balls atop tall wooden barrels they bleed spontaneously from the forehead. All on land.
Being able to tow a yacht or launch a submarine from shoulder height will not only cut down on pollution, one imagines, but also give Tem Great Britain the chance to rule the waves a, as they have the velodrome…
