Anglicans pander to Muslims in demand to end free speech

by | 21st, September 2012

ANGLICANS have reacted to the Islamists conniving overreaction to the dire and defamatory film The Innocence of Muslims by penning a letter to the United Nations’ Secretary General of the United Nations Ban Ki-Moon.

The Anglicans want the UN to ban “intentional and deliberate insulting or defamation of persons (such as prophets), symbols, texts and constructs of belief deemed holy by people of faith”.

Such are prophets. Not “such as Jesus”. Not such of Buddha.

As the Anglican pander to the big Muslim vote to support their request, the Christians may to looks at how such a rule would render all debate on religion illegal, making it impossible for Christian ministers to explain how their faith is what a Muslim, say, should believe in.

Article 19 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights:

Everyone has the right to freedom of opinion and expression. This right includes freedom to hold opinions without interference and to seek, receive and impart information and ideas through any media and regardless of frontiers.

The law’s already there. Don’t let the nutters create bad ones…
