Why didn’t Jeremy Forrest wait until Megan Stammers was 16? Well…
MEGAN Stammers is the 15-year-old schoolgirl who has legged it to France with Jeremy Forrest, the 30-year-old who teaches her maths at Bishop Bell School in Eastbourne.
Forrest married Emily Faulder, 31, in Brighton last year.
East Sussex County Council says they were investigating the relationship when the teacher and his pupil went missing. Stammers and Forrest were, reportedly, seen holding hands on the way back from a school trip to Los Angeles in February.
Mr Forrest had been giving Stammers extra tuition.
In a blog written by the nom de plume Jeremy Ayre, Forest, reportedly, wrote of his “moral dilemma”. Back in May, he wrote:
“You hit me just like heroin …The last two weeks have been pretty intense, in both a good and a bad way!!! I’ll touch on the bad, although it will have to be a bit vague to be public-ally digestible, but have lots of positive music related s*** to shoot … About a week ago I had a bit of a moral dilemma to deal with, both internally and externally. And the over-riding question it left me with was this. How do we, and how should we, define what is right or wrong, acceptable or unacceptable??? I came to a few different conclusions, mainly that actually we get a lot of things wrong, but at the end of the day I was satisfied that if you can look at yourself in the mirror and know that, under all the front, that you are a good person, that should have faith in your own judgment. That’s some philosophical gold for you there!!!”
Still, bet to give him the benefit of any doubt, if there is any.
Megan’s mum Danielle Wilson has told a press conference:
“She was really excitable, like an excitable puppy jumping around. She grabbed my shoulders and she said, ‘Mum, can you look me in the eye?’ And I said to her, because she was fussing, ‘Please stop, get off me now’. She said, ‘No Mum, look me in the eye’, and I looked her in the eye and she went, ‘I love you’.”
That was Thursday 2o September, the last time she saw her daughter.
The police have issued a statement:
“Our enquiries have shown that they left the UK after 9.30pm on Thursday, 20, of September, after boarding a ferry in Jeremy’s black Ford Fiesta. They were expected to return yesterday [Sunday], during the late evening. The scheduled ferry and the passenger list were checked but they were not on either. We believe they may still be in France.”
Telling Megan:
“If you are listening to this, we believe that you left of your own accord with Jeremy but we need to hear you are ok. You are not, and I stress, you are not in trouble.”
But your lover might be. Hurry back, Megan, sand see him get squashed.
A 15-year-old who knows Megan tells the Daily Mail:
“They would always text each other. He would send her messages saying things like ‘I miss you’ and ‘I can’t wait to hug you’.”
On that paper, one commenter asks:
“Why on earth didn’t he just wait till she was 16.”
Still, Megan, phone home…

so do I…. however, although there will be very few consequences for Megan when she is eventually found and brought home, Mr Forrest is now in a position where he has nothing to lose and that means he will try and evade capture for as long as possible. I fear for Megan if it gets to the point where he is backed into a corner, because he has nothing in his future except a long stretch in jail.
what remains of his intelligence must be telling him that it won’t last, but his emotions and the heady control he now has over an impressionable teenager may push him to do increasingly stupid things.
I hope they find them quickly.

If the reports of violent rows are true, maybe they’ve decided to leave well alone, for now, to avoid upsetting her parents even more.
.
I just hope it all ends well.

no, I don’t think you’ve missed anything Karen, the information just hasn’t been there as far as I can see… I just think it’s peculiar, because normally in such circumstances, the media would at least have a go at doorstepping this woman to get a quote, even if that quote is “No Comment” – but there has been no mention of her at all….
The only reference I read was that apparently, although they had only been married a year (!) they had violent rows..? Something else for Megan’s mother to worry about, not to mention the quote from his father saying he wasn’t worried about Megan (nice!), he was only worried about his son “incase he flips..”!!!
I can only imagine what that poor mother is going through – I would be in pieces.

I thought that, Dairy. Also, we haven’t been told her whole life story and about any scandals she may have been involved in so she must genuinely want to keep herself to herself.
.
Or have I just not noticed?

What a mess. I hope she comes home safely. Headteacher -Just how long have you been ‘investigating’ this ‘relationship?’

THe school is bloody useless. It has form. On governor was a child abuser and a former teacher “groomed” girls.

Why didnt they wait till she was 16 – because him being in a ‘position of trust’ she would need to be 18 for them to have a relationship!
