Bangladesh Buddhists attacked by outraged Muslims

RESULT! Osama has found something on the internet that offends Islam. No. Not Spurs’ 3-2 win at Manchester United over the weekend (a million poxes on your house!). This is a Facebook page featuring a burnt Koran.

Without delay, Muslim militants trash Buddhist villages in Bangladesh, torching temples, monasteries and homes. Near Chittagong, the enlightened assaulted a Hindu temple.

Says local man Sumoto Barua:

“Before they set fire to my home, they looted everything. They took our possessions, money, gold and even computers. Then they torched the house. I am now living under open sky.”

Bangladesh’s New Age newspaper reports:

A number of Facebook users in Ramu told New Age that Uttam Barua did not post the photo deemed to be offensive to Islam. Rather he was tagged with the photo posted by a hate-campaign group called ‘Insult Allah’.

Uttam Barua is in hiding.

Russia Today says the mob was 25,000-strong.

Xinhua, China, has a different view:

“About one thousand angry mobs vandalized and set ablaze at least 13 Buddhist houses and five temples in Merunloa village in Cox’s Bazar district,” Faruk Ahmed, a senior police officer, told Xinhua from Cox’s Bazar district, some 391 km southeast of capital Dhaka.

The Times says:

HUNDREDS of Muslims in Bangladesh have burnt at least four Buddhist temples and 15 homes after reports a Buddhist boy had insulted Islam.

Facts seem had to come by.
