Has Brendan Rodgers lost the plot at Liverpool?
SO. Brendan Rodgers Liverpool lose 1-0 to the mighty Anzhi Makhackkala in Moscow. Rodgers picked a largely young, inexperienced side. Would the club’s star names have fared better?
Says Rodgers:
“I don’t think I should have brought the likes of Gerrard, not at all…We just got punished for one mistake, otherwise the players who were here did fantastically well, and it wouldn’t have mattered if those other players were here.”
It wouldn’t have mattered had Liverpool picked better players, like Suarez and Gerrard? Is that why they cost more, then, because they don’t affect the result of games..?

The point is not would it have made a difference. It’s should it have made a difference.
What would Liverpool have gained if Suarez had have been there? 3 points that keep us in a competition that we don’t really want to be in? Suarez not really fit for today against Chelsea? Potentially injured?
And that’s only if Suarez had a good game. He’s had as many bad as he has good.
So I still don’t see what point you’re trying to make.

Rodgers saus “it wouldn’t have mattered if those other players were here.” It would not have made any difference if Luis Suarez had been in the team… Really?

This is an absolutely terrible article. Call yourself a journalist?
Firstly, a point of information, Anzhi Makhackkala are from Dagestan, approximately 1,100 miles from Moscow, so you can correct that for a start. Last night’s game was played in Moscow because of the political situation in Dagestan.
Liverpool’s first priority is the Premier League. Not the Europa League. Ask any Liverpool supporter and they will tell you that trips to Moscow for some tin-cup are pretty low on our list of priorities.
Do you think Brendan Rodgers is trying to win the Europa League? Personally, I’d be offended if he was. To think that Liverpool play Chelsea at the weekend, I and most other Liverpool fans would be upset if he’d dragged Suarez, Gerrard et al. to the far reaches of Eastern Europe.
Would it have mattered if he’d brought them? Might have scraped a draw, to be honest we’ve been below par all season. I wouldn’t have backed a win even if the “big players” had been there. Did the young players get a good run out? I thought so.
Are you full of shit? Yes, you most certainly are.

A paperthin squad, with the overused Suarez and Gerrard to be rested ahead of an important game at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, does that give you any clue ?
