DID Ireland’s anti-abortionist kill Savita Halappanavar. Mrs Halappanavar was a 31-year-old dentist from India. Seventeen weeks into her pregnancy she suffered a miscarriage. Her husband, Praveen Halappanavar, 34, says Savita asked for an abortion at Galway University Hospital. He has said that doctors refused to carry out a medical termination because the foetus’s heartbeat was present.
