Jacintha Saldanha: behind the headlines a family mourns

FOR all the talk of how Kate Middleton might feel about the death of nurse Jacintha Saldanha at King Edward VII Hospital and calls for Mel Greig and Michael Christian to be killed, the dead woman’s family have been overlooked. Mrs Salanha’s widow Ben Barboza issues a short statement:
I am devastated with the tragic loss of my beloved wife Jacintha in tragic circumstances, She will be laid to rest in Shirva, India
The couple are parents to two teenage children.

I was driving home from work when I heard the news whilst listening to James Whale on LBC radio and it hit me like a punch to the heart. I was absolutely gutted for the family she has left behind. In many ways, I wish I could have helped but I know that noting would have made a difference. I offer my deepest sympathies to her family. What a tragic loss.
