HOW politics works: Ed Miliband v Ed Balls:

When Lord Justice Leveson moved to shackle free speech with his report, Ed Miliband told the House of Commons:

“Lord Justice Leveson’s proposals…should be accepted in their entirety.”

Well, they do protect the rich and powerful.

A few days later, on December 6, Ed Balls, the swivel-eyed Labour bruiser, appeared on BBC Radio 4’s Today show to discuss the chancellor George Osborne’s autumn statement. Said Balls:

“I’m not going to come on the Today programme within 24 hours and start making ex cathedra statements about what we will do until we study the detail.”

The Leveson Report is 1,987 pages long. It was published on November 29, the same day Miliband made his statement and Ed “here hered” with the best ogf them.

What utter speed readers…
