IS Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit true to JRR Tolkien’a book? Would you want it to be a slog? The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey premiered in London’s Leicester Square. All the usual fantasy faces were there: Sir Ian McKellen, Andy Serkis – a man known as Gollum – Cate Blanchett and Martin Freeman, who plays main character Bilbo Baggins Sir Ian told media: “Its cast is basically British and from the Commonwealth, Tolkien was an English writer, here we are in the capital city and it feels proper.” Yep. Exactly. It’s what Tolkein would have wanted…
