Kansas City Star wants reporters Karen Dillon or Dawn Bormann to pick which one of them gets fired?

WHO’D be Karen Dillon or Dawn Bormann? It’s been reported that the two reporters on the Kansas City Star have to decide which one of them gets fired. The clear move would be to sack the indecisive / sadistic jerk who thought of this pre-Christmas wheeze.

KC Confidential reports:

They brought in two reporters – Karen Dillon and Dawn Bormann – and told them that one of them had to go. And that they had to decide which one would stay and they had until next week to figure it out. Sort of like ‘The Hunger Games.’ That’s the scuttlebutt anyway.

Jim Romenesko:

Fun fact: It was Dillon who first reported Paul Reubens’ 1991 arrest at a porn theater [see above photo]. From a Rolling Stone story: “An able young reporter named Karen Dillon, working the three-to-midnight shift at the Sarasota Herald-Tribune, recognized Paul Reubens’s name on the police blotter and broke the story.”

As one reader notes: why not cut them in half?

Better yet, why don’t the reporters set up a online paper and kill the dying organ and its pisspoor management?
