Who or what killed Jorge Selaron?
WHO or what killed Jorge Selaron, the Chilean artist who created Rio de Janeiro’s Escadaria Selaron (Selaron Stairs). The steps lead to the Convent of Santa Teresa. His body was found on those famous steps. The BBC says police are investigating reports he had received death threats.
The Guardian says he had “reportedly suffered depression and was being threatened by a former colleague connected to local drug gangs. No verdict has been given on the cause of death but friends said they had feared he would kill himself because he felt betrayed.”
Globo (Brazil) says his body was found with burn marks.
