what makes me laff – is these gun nuts like jacob – say that they need guns as a balance or check – against the US government becoming a tyranny to people.
.
They then bitch and complain when countries like Iran and N Korea arm themselves with nuclear weapons – as a check and balance against US tyranny.
.
The Iranians and N Korans use the exact same logic to justify their WMD programmes.
.
So if your pro-citizens having access to military grade hardware –

Then you are either pro N Korea and Iran having the bomb,

Or your a hypocrite who hasn’t thought through the logic of your argument very well.

it’s also worth noting that the arms the 2nd amendment reffered to were front loading muskets – the type that had bugger all accuracy over 50m and had a fire rate of about 4 shots per minute (if you were a highly trained professional soldier)

learn some history before talking about it like you know whats going on. and no, highschool “history” class doesn’t count. Our government is setup to defend against any threat of tyranny so it can be hard for Americans to understand. Our government is not the only system of checks and balances the entire NATION was designed to be a series of checks and balances. federal, state, local; military, militia, police force. all armed and all able to defeat the other depending on the circumstance, because of guns. Guns are what ensure to us that if the government makes the wrong move we can stand up to them and say that it’s not gonna happen, but without that force to claim we can easily be manipulated through intimidation and fear, just as Germany was which led to Nazism. That is why the founding fathers set up our government in the way that it is setup, though we are missing the militias we used to have which has upset the balance and the police force becomes more militarized… we need to take these things back not make them harder to achieve.
