So Wayne LaPierre thinks video games cause gun violence. Funny that other countries don’t have that problem. Could it be because other countries don’t have easy access to guns?

And if LaPierre is so certain that gun access isn’t strongly implicated with high levels of gun death (murder and suicide), then why has the NRA been actively interfering in efforts by neighbouring South American countries to follow the successful Australian model of decreasing gun-related murder by reducing gun ownership. Wouldn’t be because the NRA might be shown up as wrong, would it? After all, if they’re wrong, then they are facilitating the actions of child-killers.

I never got the whole – we need machine guns – as a “check and balance” for the US government – so if they get out of hand – we can form militia’s and defend ourselves.
.
yea – because owning an assault rifle is going to do wonders against a laser guided hellfire missile fired from an unmanned predator drone 12 miles away.
.
Not to mention that the government has total control of the power, water and communications infrastructure.
.
So this romantic notion that citizens will form some kind of millitia and protect the freedoms of the people with their own hands – would just end up with a few isolated and cut off Amish commune’s getting strafed by an apache gunship.

After all the constitution was written long before the terms air superiority and bunker buster bombs were around.
