IF we’re being honest with ourselves, actors seem a bit mental don’t they? They don’t work very often and they’re the most paranoid people on Earth. Their imaginations run wild and they end up acting oddly in public.

And so, to Russell Crowe who has posted a video on YouTube which he claims shows a UFO passing by his office window in Sydney.

The 23-second video shows a bright rectangular light moving across sky along with another light in tandem. Now why would Crowe be filming such a dull vista? Well, apparently, he set the camera up to “capture fruit bats rising from Botanic Gardens” in the suburb of Woolloomooloo, according to his Twitter.

And Woolloomooloo is a hilarious name.

Naturally, the response to the clip was one of huge scepticism, with one user writing: “Just an insect or some such reflecting the light on the other side of the trees into your time lapse camera”, while another said: “Definitely is the real deal. All the signs and indicators are present. blurry, unfocused, 3 frames only, reliable provenance, incorrect exposure factors. All real UFO images are like this.”

Crowe wasn’t interested in such cynicism, yelling away about how real it all was.

This is Russell Crowe who is prone to pinning BAFTA producers up against walls, throwing phones at hotel employees AND, most crucially, he’s got a new film out.
