Women’s lingerie, on sale for men to wear

IS Mangerie a thing? If not, it is now as a company called HommeMystere has decided to make women’s lingerie for men. They’re offering things like thongs and padded bras, and hope to change the landscape of men’s underwear.

The Australian firm said their under garments include ‘comfortable men’s panties that really do fit, bra straps that don’t fall off the shoulder, teddies that don’t ride up halfway through the night and quality soft fabrics that feel great for all day wear’.

Now, this may seem odd, but think about it: How thoroughly tedious is male underwear? Compare it to women’s and you see that there’s at least some sense behind all this. Men have underpants and that’s it. Ladies? They have bras, knickers, stockings, garters, corsets and all manner of fancy things. And there men stand, in their underpants and socks looking like melted candles.

If a straight man wants to let a lady know she’s in for a night of passion, would she get it if he greeted her at the door in just his undercrackers? Of course not. Chances are, the lady would assume she’s going out with someone who can’t be bothered to get dressed.

Switch roles and a man greeted by his girlfriend dressed in her undergarment finery, and everyone knows what time it is.

And so, mangerie could well be the thing to redress the balance, where blokes get to have nice things as opposed to a stupid pair of underpants.

There is one teeny-weeny problem though. Men. They look stupid in women’s underwear and look even worse when they’re naked. So yeah, there’s always that. Nice try, Mystery Homme.
