Woolwich street attack

THE soldier murdered in Woolwich was Cornwall-born Lee Rigby of the 2nd Battalion, the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers. He was a military bandsman in the Corps of Drums. He had seen active servie inAfghanistan, Cyprus and Germany. Since 2011 he had preformed ceremonial duties at the regimental headquarters at the Tower of London.

He was father to a two-year-old boy.

The men accused of murdering him are Michael Adebolajo, 28, and another man yet to be identified. Both are of Nigerian descent. London-born Adebolaj went to Marshalls Park School in Romford . He became a Muslin after attending Havering Sixth Form College and during his time at Greenwich University.

Anjem Choudary, former leader of the banned radical group al-Muhajiroun, says of him:

“I knew him as Mujahid. He attended our meetings and my lectures. I wouldn’t describe him as a member [of al-Muhajiroun]. There were lots of people who came to our activities who weren’t necessarily members. He has been around on and off the scene for quite some time. I spoke to Sheikh Omar Bakri Mohammed this morning and he remembers his face too. I wouldn’t say he was a member of our group but he was around and about until two years ago when he disappeared and I don’t know who he associated with after that. He was like many of the young men who come to us – very quiet, kind, a pleasant character. What happened yesterday was a shock for all of us. But as he said himself to the camera, this is all the result of British foreign policy. He made that clear.”

Yeah. We made him do it.
