Dear Artists: Michael Jackson’s chimp is making more money than you as a painter

EVERYONE knows how hard it is to make a living as an artist. Painters live on the breadline in moldy bedsits trying to make it in the cruel artworld.

And all the while, Bubbles, Michael Jackson’s famous pet chimp, is raking it in. That will annoy the piss out of people won’t it? Bubbles has sold two paintings for £2,000 at auction. Imagine the amount of Drum rolling tobacco you could buy with that?

According to the Mirror, the animal’s work has to be sold in order to raise money for his care bill, after the Jackson family ostensibly “abandoned” the chimp.

The ape, now a remarkable 27-years-old, needs £13,000 each year to pay for his upkeep. Those diamond nappies and cigarettes won’t buy themselves, clearly.

The chimp now resides at the Centre for Great Apes in Florida, after Jackson passed away in 2009, as a death rumour at the Glastonbury festival.

Patti Ragan, who works at the centre, is appealing for fans to donate £100 a year each for Bubbles’ care, because the other monkeys clearly don’t matter.

Fan Scott Ponoroff, who donated money to Bubbles, said: “It’s a disgrace. If Michael’s own brothers and sisters aren’t giving money then I guess it’s up to the fans.”

Fans, it is worth pointing out, that are all mental.
