ITV and Sky are determined to make explosive news, however, neither hold a candle to KIII-TV in Texas.

Live on-air, three KIII-TV news anchors were left pie-eyed and pooing it after an explosion rocked the studio at 5.30am local time on July 12.

Reporters John Thomas (arf!), Jane Monreal and meteorologist Kristin Diaz were presenting in in Corpus Christi, when all of a sudden, the studio quaked with the sound of a blast.

Remaining toothy and professional, they laughed off the explosion after letting the fear spread across their faces, and gamely continued with their live show.

“Oh, the studio has had a bit of a ruckus, we’ll have to see what that was about, we might be making our own news. In the meantime, we’ll keep calm here and try to let you know what you need to know this morning,” Monreal said

“What a way to wake up,” Diaz added.

Turns out that the blast was due to a gas explosion at a house two miles away from the studio, where two men were injured and three homes were destroyed.

Have a look.
