Poppy Cocks: The ‘Demeaning’ Row Over Google’s Poppy Day Tribute

THE other week I watched a troop of people working out how they could make poppies appear over the banner mastheads of every single one of their websites without having to re-upload all the images through the CMS. I sat there pondering who would actually complain if it turned out that your website didn’t have an extra little graphical adornment for a few days a year.

Today I got my answer – MPs have the time, and Senior Political Correspondents have the inclination to write it up: Google criticised for ‘demeaning’ tribute to Britain’s war dead

I offer no further comment except to note that the article appears underneath the Telegraph’s own visual web tribute. A static image of a poppy just like Google’s. #ShowSomeRespect
