Dayna Morales tip

THE media leapt all over the story of the waitress stiffed on a tip due to her being gay .

Chelsea Welsh wrote in the Guardian :

‘Ive waited tables before, and if there’s one thing I know for certain, it’s that Dayna could have posted any of the genuinely hateful notes you receive on a regular basis instead of making one up:

“Get a real job”

“NONE! :)”

“No tips for dykes”

…I also believe Dayna – to a degree. I believe that she’s likely been harassed for being gay, and likely been slighted on tips.

The general manager of the restaurant, Byron Lapola, offered:

“Dayna is one of our absolute best servers working here at Gallop. We as a team were deeply hurt by the events that transpired. I myself as the General Manager took it personal as my team treats each other like a family. I made sure that Dayna was compensated for the tip, as for emotionally I wish there was much more I could do. One thing I can say is that people of that woman’s kind business is not welcome here at Gallop, and I can assure you that if they decide to dine here again that they will be turned away.”

The media latched on. Understanding souls sent Morales money, which she would forward to the Wounded Warrior Project .

But the accused said they did leave a tip and never left the note .

Kristina Calamusa, a former friend of Morales, tells The Daily Caller  the waitress has never seen active service and was certainly not “blown up” as
