LONDON Slaves: A daily look at the big story of the women “rescued” from a London flat.

Today the story is no longer deemed worthy of the newspaper front pages.

The Mirror continues it’s feeding frenzy off the tory whose bones contained so little flesh with a scoop. David Collins writes:

London ‘slave’ who died after window fall was at university with Cherie Blair

With her? They were friends?

Sian Davies was studying for a masters at the London School of Economics while the wife of former Prime Minister Tony Blair was there reading law

One of Cherie’s ex-classmates said: “They were in the same year. They didn’t move in the same circles but they knew of each other. Sian was quiet and shy. There were a lot of strange groups operating around the university and it looks like she got involved with one of them.”

As for Cherie…

The Telegraph: “Slavery case: Police ‘lost chance’ to investigate sect member’s mystery death – A cousin of Sian Davies, who died after falling from a window while living in the Marxist collective, criticises a hospital for delaying before telling police about the strange circumstances of her accident”

Sian Davies, 44, a former pupil at Cheltenham Ladies’ College, was left paralysed from the neck down after falling from a second-floor bathroom window in a house occupied by the far-Left collective on Christmas Eve 1996.

As the Mirror scrambles to find notables who went to that school at the same time as Sian, we hear once more from Eleri Morgan:

“She was taken to King’s [Hospital] and King’s did nothing about it. The police said it was too late. The police said it was such a shame because by the time she died, there was nothing there in terms of evidence… Why didn’t King’s say something? If you actually take somebody in who has fallen out of a window, and see what they [the other collective members] were like, why wouldn’t they have thought it was worth telling the police?”

King’s College Hospital says:

“Given the amount of time that has elapsed since the incident in question, we are unable to provide details at short notice about any aspect of this patient’s care or treatment during their admission to hospital. Like all hospitals, we work closely with partner organisations (including the police and social services) on a daily basis to safeguard the health and well-being of our patients.”

As you were Mirror sleuths:

Fiona Mactaggart, the Labour MP and former junior Home Office minister, disclosed on Thursday that she was in the same class as Miss Davies at Cheltenham Ladies’ College.

Labour MP went to private school. No shock there.

One other fact is that Rosie Davies, 30, one of three women “rescued” was given the name Prem Maopinduzi, meaning “revolution” in Swahili. No father is listed. But Sian was her mother.

In other slavery news reported by pretty much all newspapers. This from the Vancouver Sun:

Domestic diva Nigella Lawson treated her two former assistants worse than slaves, a London court heard Thursday. Elisabetta Grillo, 41, and her sister Francesca, 35, are on trial for spending more than $1 million on credit cards billed to Lawson and her exhusband, Charles Saatchi…

Saatchi’s finance director, Rahul Gajjar, testified Thursday he inquired about the alleged spending sprees. The sisters were open and apologetic, he said. “Lisa (Elisabetta) was against the proposal and I remember a reference to ‘We’re being treated worse than Filipino slaves,'” Gajjar told the court.

Slavey seems to be rife. This from New York.

A Georgia courthouse sparked outrage by listing slave as an occupation choice on a new online juror questionnaire. DeKalb County Court came under fire this week for the blunder that let prospective peers list their official job as being the property of another person.

A would-be juror spotted the offensive moniker on Monday after trying to find the word sales in a drop-down menu.

Instead, the word slave flashed up.

Slavery. Always the slavery.
