Gung-ho Homeowner Ronald Westbrook Shoots Dead Lost Alzheimer’s Sufferer Ronald Westbrook

TO Georgia, USA, where 34-year-old Joe Hendrix man shot dead  72-year-old male Alzheimer’s sufferer Ronald Westbrook (above), who was lost.

Sheriff Steve Wilson says Westbrook was  lost and confused . Dressed in thin clothes in sub-zero temperatures, Westbook had been lost for four hours. He’d gone out to walk his two dogs and become disorientated.

At around 2:30 a.m., Westbrook  was spotted by a mailbox. Police asked him what he was up to. He said it was his home. It was. But he’d sold it years earlier. He lived way up the hill.

At 4:00 a.m., Westbrook approached another home. He rang the doorbell. He  tried to open  the door. Hendrix lived there. His fiancé called 911 to report the disturbance. She kept talking for almost 10 minutes before police arrived.

Why did the caller ring the bell? Did he need help? Was it a threat? No threats had been uttered. Best to sit tight. Wait for the police. 

But Hendrix  loaded his .40 caliber handgun. He went outside. He saw the old man’s silhouette outside the house. He ordered the man to  halt.  He didn’t. So. Hendrix fired. Four times.  Westbrook was dead.
