ONE of Lee Rigby’s killer Michael Adebolajo addressed a crowd by London’s Harrow Central Mosque on the eighty anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

Adebolajo: “Do not be scared of the filthy kuffar [non-believers]. They are pigs.”

So. Why did he murder a British man?

Who legitimised the kind of hate manifest in his savagery?

Why do the killers hate the society in which they live?

David Cameron wants it stopped:

“We must work harder to defeat the radical views which lead some people to embrace violence… There are just too many people who have been radicalised in Islamic centres, who have been in contact with extremist preachers, who have accessed radicalising information on the internet… I want to see an end to hate preaching in Britain.”

So. According to Cameron, gurning nutjobs preaching about blood and violence on the web foment murder. Surely, they appeal to those who seek them out? Cameron’s views reflect the elite’s panic about how we all react to radical views or unusual events. They know, you see. And we are all impressionable and easily led, even into murder. But some seek out the jihadi who wants total war on the Western way of life. They do so wilfully. He should ask why?

Talking up the power ofthe other side’s rhetoric suggests the elites’ lack of confidence in their own system. They appear to be worried about the effectiveness of their own propaganda is defeating the terrorist. Don’t ban it. Debate it. Champion what it is this country stands for. Defeat the enemy with free speech.

Lee Rigby’s murder has not led to anti-Islamists killing Muslims in the street. More Muslims have not seen Adebolajo and felt inspired to murder.

Michael Adebolajo is not the norm. He is no purveyor of ideas. His terrorism has not radicalised people, as he apparently hoped it would. Indeed, anyone who has heard him speak or seen his police tape could easily conclude that he’s mentally negligible. Adebolajo and Michael Adebowale did not so much murder to support their religious beliefs as find a belief to support their mental deficiencies, rejection of society and narcissistic criminal desires. They sought an identity. They found one.

If hate preachers spouting nonsense are dangerous, then so too are the likes of Cameron, who encourage the criminally vain to believe that what they do matters.

Adebowale and Adebolajo matter only to Lee Rigby and the loved ones he left behind. The killers are responsible for their own actions. No excuses. Don’t offer him any. It was murder.
