Hey Hey! It’s The Razzies! Grown-Ups 2 Could Sweep The Board
TOO frequently, the world of entertainment is very willing to pat itself on the back and gush all over itself about just how wonderful it has been all year.
However, with the shade that is the grisly business of an industry awards ceremony, comes the light of someone simply blowing a raspberry at the whole thing and waggling their arses.
With that, just as awards season starts, comes the wonderful Razzies, to point out how awful Hollywood can really be.
And there’s some big names in the noms for the 2014 Razzies. Kim Kardashian, perhaps unsurprisingly, makes an appearance, but so does Oscar nomineee Naomi Watts. They’re both up for the same award. Will either of them have the backbone to style it out and actually attend and pick up their award?
Kardashian is up for Worst Supporting Actress at the 34th annual Golden Raspberry Awards, for her turn in Tyler Perry’s Temptation, going up against Lady Gaga, Salma Hayek, Katherine Heigl and Lindsay Lohan. Elsewhere, Lohan dukes it out with Watts, Halle Berry, Selena Gomez and Tyler Perry (who plays a woman in some dreck) in the Worst Actress category.
Watts has been chosen for her roles in both Diana and Movie 43, which is rather impressive, while LiLo is getting in the chops for her part in The Canyons, In-App-Propriate Comedy and Scary Movie 5.
Adam Sandler rightly makes an appearance for his part in Grown-Ups 2 which has a whopping eight nominations at the awards. That’s Worst Picture, Worst Sequel, Worst Screenplay and Worst Ensemble Cast as well as Sandler’s Worst Actor, co-star Taylor Lautner and Hayek nommed for Worst Supporting Actor and Actress respectively. And director Dennis Dugan completes the film’s eight nominations with a Worst Director.
Of course, Sandler is a Razzie veteran as, in 2011, his Jack and Jill movie (seriously woeful) made Razzie history by getting 10 awards (which including Worst Actor AND Worst Actress for Sandler).
