ON 7th February 2014 it will be 50 years since The Beatles first toured the United States. The Beatles were a massive hit. On 9 February 1964, the Beatles made their first live US television appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show. At  8 P.M, 73 million Americans saw the Fab Four go through their paces.

On 11 February 1964, the Beatles’ first US concert took place, at Washington Coliseum, Washington, D.C. Eight thousand fans were there. Next day, they performed at New York’s Carnegie Hall, New York, in front of 2000 paying maniacs. Another performance on the Sullivan show before on 22 February 1964, The Beatles returned to the UK.
