Liam Gallagher Tells Oasis Fans Not To Buy Oasis LPs

NOT one for mincing his words, Liam Gallagher has told Oasis fans that they shouldn’t buy the forthcoming reissue of the group’s debut LP Definitely Maybe.

Why? Well, on Twitter, Our Liam got his one typing finger out, made sure caps lock was on, and said:

“HOW CAN YOU REMASTER SOMETHING THATS ALREADY BEING MASTERED.DONT BUY INTO IT.LET IT BE LG X”

You may be aware that Oasis fans were promised a big, lovely surprise to be announced on Wednesday February 26th. Everyone hoped it might mean the return of the band, however, what they got was news of a reissue to mark the 20th anniversary, due on shelves in May.

Fans were told they could buy an album they already had, along with rare and unreleased recordings, a booklet and more.

The reissue is the first in the new Chasing The Sun series from Big Brother Recordings. What’s The Story (Morning Glory)? and Be Here Now will also be flogged like dead horses later this year.

Presumably, there isn’t as much clamour for Standing On The Shoulder Of Giants and Heathen Chemistry, but then again, you never know. By the time they’re getting reappraised, Mojo will have run out of articles about The Beatles and Rolling Stones, so will no doubt be scratching their chins and saying that Go Let It Out is a classic rock track and The Hindu Times is a much misunderstood psychedelic masterpiece.
