Arsenal Balls: If Not Diarra Then Who Is The ‘Former Arsenal Star Fighting Jihad In Syria’?

WHO is the former “Arsenal “star fighting as a jihad warrior in Syria”, as “The Sun can reveal”?

We’d like to take a look at his shooting accuracy before making a guess.

The Sun informs readers: “Arsenal investigating claims.”

But Arsenal’s international police force should know that the man in the mask is not Lokomotiv Moscow midfielder Lassana Diarra, formerly of the Gunners, Portsmouth and Chelsea. He is not known as “Abu Issa Al-Andalusi”, the man who left football to “to make the path of Allah”.

The Sun adds:

Members of his terror cell say he grew up in Portugal playing with the Real Madrid striker before moving to the Gunners in London.

Diarra felt the need to respond the rumours that this was him, tweeting:

He then issued an accompanying denial through his lawyer, Eric Dupond Moretti, who said:

“Lassana denies in the most formal, the most categoric, the most absolute fashion that he has gone to Syria. He has never set foot in Syria. It’s absurd. He is not a jihadist, he is a footballer with Lokomotiv Moscow. He will play in Lokomotiv’s league game on Sunday.”

It is tough to know what to believe. Do we go with the twitter rumour mill that the French footballer whose never been to Syria and still plays the game at a high level is a Portuguese-born former footballer with a AK47?
