Chelsea Balls: Jose Mourinho Says His Family Are Like The Smurfs

IS Jose Mourinho going a bit, you know, Tonto?

In the Programme notes for Chelsea’s match with Norwich, Jose delivered a few words to his son. The lad’s name? Oh come on. It’s Jose Junior. D’ur!

Writes dad:

Thank you, kid, for being my kid.

Does Jose think children work on a transfer system, weighing up their options before choosing their parents?

Every time I look at you, I see you…

I do not see a mini me, spots or the Manchester United job receding into the distance.

…but I also see your sister and your mum, both at home but also playing with us…

Do you sense a little whiff of sexism, there? The Mourinho mean are out; the Mourinho women are at home.

…both waiting for us to go home and to be what we are – an amazing family…

Maybe the women can embroider cushions whilst waiting, or a wall hanging depicting the menfolk returning with their fresh kill of severed referee heads.

….like the blue family, supporting each other.

Smurfs. The Mourinho family are smurfs?

Jose. Just make sure you get some rest in the off season, mate.
