Transfer Balls: Chelsea Sell Luiz To Barcelona And Also To PSG
TRANSFER Balls looks in on Chelsea’s David Luiz.
The Telegraph reports:
“Chelsea have agreed to sell David Luiz to Paris St. Germain for a fee which could approach £40million, and may make the shaggy-haired Brazilian the most expensive defender in the world. The two clubs are currently in negotiations over the precise fee but the London club are satisfied the offer from PSG will be too valuable to turn down, and have agreed in principle to the sale, which both sides would like to conclude this weekend.”
Wow, indeed. Because on May 13, 2014, the Times‘ Gary Jacob reported:
David Luiz agrees deal with Barcelona. José Mourinho began the process of reshaping his Chelsea squad for next season when David Luiz agreed terms with Barcelona yesterday over a move likely to be worth almost £30 million after the World Cup finals.
Still, 40million ifs great money for Luiz. But because this is Transfer Balls, we’re going to hold out for a higher bid. And here it is, as the Mirror reports:
Chelsea’s David Luiz set for world record £50m move to Paris Saint-Germain
By tomorrow that fee could be higher. Don’t sign yet, Dave…
