But was waaaay back on June 1, that the Daily Telegraph stated:

Cesc Fabregas will not return to Arsenal from Barcelona as Arsene Wenger rules out £30m move

The papers all agree that Cesc is worth £30m. Although the BBC did  tell us his release clause is triggered at £175m.

One day later the Sun told readers Fabregas was heading to Manchester United, Manchester City or Liverpool. Arsenal did not figure in the equation.

The Daily Telegraph was more precise:

Spain international will be allowed leave the Nou Camp with Manchester City now clear favourites to land the midfielder

Readers then learnt the Chelsea don’t really rate Cesc, news followed just yesterday by the trusty Daily Star, which yelled:

Chelsea agree deal with Arsenal and Man United target Cesc Fabregas

And today we get in the Star:

Arsenal and Man United target Cesc Fabregas passes medical at Chelsea

The Metro adds:

Chelsea to offer Cesc Fabregas £200,000-a-week to move to Stamford Bridge

And, as we know from the Star, he’s already joined Chelsea. Only Metro adds:

United are rated as the favourites for the Spain international, while Arsenal have first option to sign him, but Chelsea believe their giant cash offer will tempt Fabregas to reject all other options – and join them instead.

That’s the United who created the Sun headline:

LOUIS VAN GAAL has told Manchester United that he does not want Barcelona ace Cesc Fabregas.

So. Where is Cesc going? The Mirror says a fee has been agreed:

Has Gerard Pique just let slip that Cesc Fabregas is leaving Barcelona for €33million? The defender told Spain boss Vicente del Bosque that he has been told Fabregas is leaving by the club, and that it was Cesc Fabregas who told him.
