1943: Wounded Soldiers Bake In The Sun Room At Fitzsimons Army Hospital in Aurora, Colorado

ON June 5 1943, wounded soldiers took advantage of the “Sun Room” at Fitzsimons Army Hospital in Aurora, Colorado.

The lamp is adjustable and can provide rays made to order for wounded. Only four of more than 100 physicians and surgeons at Fitzsimons are army doctors; the rest are specialists assembled from throughout country. (AP Photo)
