TRANSFER Balls: Is Real Madrid and Germany midfielder Sami Khedira heading from Real Madrid to Arsenal?

The Daily Star manages to link the player with four of the biggest English clubs:

Liverpool and Man United join Arsenal and Chelsea in four-way £24m fight for Sami Khedira

Jack Wilson is in full Balls mode:

Both Arsenal and Chelsea have been linked with moves for the 27-year-old Real Madrid midfielder.

Linked by whom? Jack doesn’t say. Instead he just speculates to deadline:

But their attempts to sign him could be hit by their Premier League rivals… Manchester United were after Khedira last summer and ready to try and snap him up again. Liverpool could also reportedly move for the German.

Well, they all could.

A site called football.com has more Balls:

New Manchester United boss van Gaal to swoop for Real Madrid hitman

Hitman? Six goals in 71 appearances?

Over in the Sun, we learn that Manchester United were “prepared to increase their £30m bid for Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira”.

So. United will have to pay more than £30m for the German but Arsenal can get him for £24m, as the Express reports:

The paper notes:

….he is on £150,000-a-week, meaning Arsenal would have to make him their highest-paid player ahead of Mesut Ozil and Sanchez to match that. Real are also demanding £24m for the ex-Stuttgart man, which Wenger may feel is excessive for a player in the last 12 months of his contract.

The Express then adds:

Arsenal, who on Thursday completed the £30 million signing of Barcelona striker Alexis Sanchez, have made a £20 million opening offer for Khedira.

But that same day, the Express noted that the player doesn’t want to play for Chelsea:

And then there was the Mirror which said Arsenal were going to bid £23m for the player.

Such are the facts…
