IS Sami Khedira leaving Real Madrid to play for Arsenal? Transfer Balls – Anorak’s look at utter bilge presented as fact to news-hungry football fans –  spots news on the website CaugthtOffside. It is an “EXCLUSIVE”:

arsenal

The new Arsenal player is World Cup winner Sami Khedira.

The site with the scoop is run by a company called “fanatix”. Based in London, the story trills:

Arsenal will look to unveil German midfielder Sami Khedira as their third high-profile signing of the summer after the north London side registered a bid that has been accepted by La Liga side Real Madrid.

Christian Bailey continues:

CaughtOffside understands that the Gunners have spent the past three days locked in talks with the 27 year old battler’s representatives and have come to an agreement on personal terms and are confident a deal will be secured in the next 48 hours.

The phrase “understands” is straight form the Sky Sports reporting handbook. Anorak “understands” it to be balls.

And then the story gets weaker than David Luiz’s tear ducts:

Arsene Wenger rarely responds to transfer speculation but his decision to directly respond to speculation around the club’s efforts to land Khedira is something of a giveaway that the French boss believes his side will welcome in the former Stuttgart man on an imminent deal.

What did he say?

…when pressed on his interest in Khedira he stated;

‘I can’t give you any names.’

So. Khedira it is. Bet your house on it. And in the same vein, Anorak can exclusively reveal that in not ruling out a move for James Rodriguez, The Pope and H from Steps.

More Transfer Balls ever day…
