Transfer Balls: Manchester City Beat Arsenal To Falcao With Sale Of Negredo To Valencia Agreed

TRANSFER Balls: It’s the final day of football’s summer shopping season and much media attention is focused on Monaco’s Radamel Falcao.

The Mirror says Manchester City will buy Radamel Falcao is they can offload Alvaro Negredo to Valencia. Readers learn that Negredo is “desperate” to move to Spain.

The Mail says Negredo is on his way, having agreed to leave City for Valencia. But the paper adds that he will stay at City if The Citizens don’t bag Falcao. So. In other words, no deal has been done.

And, yes, this is the Daily Mail which reported Falcao had signed for Real Madrid.

The Guardian says Arsenal are “desperate” to sign a striker. Really? Because the Gunners never did sign anyone yet, reportedly pulling away from deal for Mario Balotelli and Loic Remy.

And the Indy says:

The Mail says Yaya Sonogo is Arsenal’s “one fit out-and-out striker in the first team squad. Odd because Germany striker Lukas Podolski played at Leicester. The Mail loves to talk a problem into a crisis.

Will Arsenal buy?

After Arsenal’s match against Leicester finished 1-1, Arsene Wenger, the club’s manager, opined:

“Is the amount of money we can spend unlimited? No, because that’s not the way we manage the club. We try always to make the right decision. We have resources if we think it’s the right player. I can give you my phone and in the next 24 hours you will see that you get plenty of people offered from all over the world.”

The Express says Manchester City will “beat Arsenal and Man United to Radamel Falcao”. That’s the same Express which said Falcao was heading to Arsenal.

It’s going to be a busy day of Balls…
