It’s an outrage. How dare a foreinger make fun of Rooney’s physical appearance. That’s the job of the British Press.

News is that Norway captain Vegard Forren has “stoked things up before the friendly by claiming England’s star man is out of shape”.

The dirty foreign swine. The British wold never stoop so low.

The Star adds:

Asked whether he was worried about the pace of the Three Lions at Wembley, Southampton flop Forren said: “No, Rooney looks a bit chubby.”

The Mirror also leads with “fat” Rooney and his fat chancers.

John Cross adds:

England vs Norway: Captain Wayne Rooney ignores visitors’ “chubby” jibe and insists he’s hungry for success

Does Rooney also ignore the Mirror’s chubby jibe and the pun that England have a “FAT CHANCE” of being any good?

We’ll end with a look at what Vegard Forren actually said:

“Rooney looks a bit chubby. They’re obviously good players, and many of them are on good form already after three games in the Premier League, but we’re looking forward to it. It’s almost a bit scary, but it’s in games like this and experiences like this you want to be able to contribute so I’m looking forward to it. We know we’re a good team so there’s no reason for us to walk around thinking we can’t stop them.”

Whose attacking England more, the visiting captain who says England are good players or the paper that shouts FATSO and calls them FAT CHANCERS?
