Transfer Balls: Arsenal And Manchester United Make Top Secret Moves For Barcelona’s Marco Reus

TRANSFER Balls: Is Borussia Dortmund’s Marco Reus heading to Arsenal to Manchester United? Or what about Barcelona, Real Madrid or Atletico Madrid?

The IB Times’Eduardo Fernandez-Abascal  reports:

Real Madrid have secured first refusal on Arsenal and Manchester United target Marco Reus next summer, according to reports in Spain. The German international’s future at Borussia Dortmund has been questioned in recent weeks after it was revealed he had a special release clause in his contract which allows him to leave the team in summer 2015 for as little as £25m ($15m, €18.9m) [sic].

Sure. But if he’s that good, surely others will bid higher? And he might like to check those exchange rates.

Spanish newspaper El Confidencial reports Real Madrid will have first option on Reus’ future – having already agreed a deal with Dortmund whereby the German giants will inform them if another team makes a bid for the star.

Ha-ha. What utter balls. You can see Reus’ agent keen to keep any negotiations top secret lest another club step in and offer more wages and bigger commissions. “Shhhh!’ he says. ‘Arsenal have agreeed to pay you £70,000 a week. Yes, yes, Manchester United or Real will pay £250,000 but let’s not tell. Oh, no. We have an agreement. We have to tell. DASH IT ALL!”

The report then get weaker than John Terry’s tear ducts.

… after Reus rejected an offer to commit his future to Dortmund last July, the club are already resigned to his departure – and prefer to sell him to La Liga than Bayern. Nevertheless, Dortmund have seen both Mario Gotze and Robert Lewandowski move to their big rivals in the last two summers and will make any effort to avoid this situation again.

They are resigned to seeing Reus go but will do all they can to stop him going.
