Parents Research Family Trees In Light Of New School Holiday Travel Rules

PARENTS can remove their children from class during term time and not be branded criminals under new guidelines. The Sunday Times looks at acceptable excuses:

These include going to family weddings or funerals, recovering after a personal or family crisis, attending a religious event or visiting a relative who is seriously ill. Parents will, however, still be barred from taking advantage of cut-price breaks in term time.

Dear sir, they can only fit Jake’s Bar Mitzvah at the Wailing Wall a week before the winter half tem; Susan is desperate to see the Pope, and he’s free in mid-December; and cousin Hilda (third cousin, twice removed), thinks she’s dying in mid-January Tenerife.

Remember: if you a holiday in term time, family matters.
