Transfer Balls: Spurs Sell Lloris To Real Madrid But Barcelona Already Bought Him

TRANSFER Balls: Is Spurs ‘keeper Hugo Lloris on his way to Real Madrid? The Daily Express has an “Exclusive” that says he is…maybe:

EXCLUSIVE: Real Madrid prepare a MEGA £20m bid for Tottenham keeper Hugo Lloris

REAL MADRID are ready to launch a £20million January move for Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris.

The exclusive scoop tells readers:

Lloris is still Mauricio Pochettino’s first-choice at White Hart Lane, but the Frenchman, despite signing a new five-year deal this summer, is believed to want Champions League football – which on current form is some way off for Spurs.

Spurs have enjoyed Champions’ League football once. Lloris is ambitious, but surely no more so than any other Spurs player.

Real will be prepared to wait until next summer if a deal cannot be done in January, while French giants Paris St Germain, who targeted Chelsea’s Petr Cech in the summer, are also interested.

That scoop is getting a bit woolly. Madrid might wait until the season’s end. And PSG might bid for the Frenchman.

Tottenham, who already have Michel Vorm and Brad Friedel as back-up goalkeepers, will fight to keep Lloris…

So. Lloris might not be leaving Spurs, after all. But newspapers do like dealing in facts. So. Here’s what the Mirror told its readers last Februrary:

Hugo Lloris is a target for Barcelona with the keeper likely to quit Tottenham this summer if they fail to qualify for the Champions League.Hugo Lloris is a target for Barcelona with the keeper likely to quit Tottenham this summer if they fail to qualify for the Champions League.

Such are the facts…
