Saudi Arabia: Western women drive because they ‘don’t care about being raped’

To Saudi Arabia, where a local man has said something remarkably stupid.

Dr Saleh al-Saadoon says the ban on women driving alone is good, and women who drive alone are asking to break down and be “raped by the roadside”.

 

 

We’ve never seen the smallprint on Saudi Arabia’s Royal Automobile Club or equivalent, but if rape goes with the job, then rules are rules.

The good Doctor then, reportedly, turns his eye on women who drive in the West:

“They don’t care if they are raped on the roadside – but we do.  It’s not a big deal for them beyond the damage to their morale. In our case, however, the problem is of a social and religious nature.” What is rape if not a blow to the morale of a woman? That goes deeper than the social damage.”
