Manchester United: Sergio Ramos says David De Gea could become a top goalkeper

by | 2nd, September 2015

Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos offer David De Gea some tips for muddling along after his Manchester United transfer collapsed.

Real Madrid  Keylor Navas would have moved to Old Trafford if the deal had gone through but Ramos is confident that the Costa Rican and deputy Kiko Castilla – Iker Casillas’ replacement – will be good enough this season, with De Gea expected to arrive at the club next summer.

“We have two great goalkeepers [Keylor Navas and Kiko Castilla]. I speak about the players we have here… I can’t speak about players that are not part of Real Madrid.”

And then he did:

“I have not spoken to him [De Gea] and I don’t know what his opinion is. I think life goes on and no one is dying. He has to keep working to keep at his level because I think he is a candidate to become one of the best goalkeepers.”

Beam me up, Snotty.
